Interesting Facts:
  • Tour was scheduled to open at Japan's Korakuen Stadium but was cancelled because of a mini-tyhoon that brought torrential rains and gale-force winds to the town.
  • In Japan, a thousand troops had to restrain 25,000 fans seeking to greet Madonna at the airport.
  • In just 18 hours, 144,000 tickets were sold for two shows at Wembley Stadium.
  • Madonna performed in eighteen cities on two continents performing for 2 million fans. She earned roughly $500,000 per show.
  • The elaborate stage sets travelled in twenty-three trucks and required both a 747 and a DC-7 to be flown from Japan to Miami for the US kick-off. Setting up the stage took three days with a fifty-person tech crew.
  • The proceeds from the July 13 Madison Square Gardens concert were given to the American Foundation for Aids Research (AMFAR).
